Set amidst the stunning scenery of Derbyshire's Peak District National Park, Castle Cliffe bed and breakfast is an ideal base from which to explore the many sites and activities the area has to offer. All rooms have views in our bed and breakfast, whether to the west looking out over the famous Viaduct and beautiful Monsal Dale, south accross open fields towards Bakewell, or east past Longstone Edge to Chatsworth and beyond. All rooms are en suite and have televisions and hot drinks facilities. Prices per room per night range from £60 to £80 and are inclusive of breakfast. Visit our main website for more details. A warm welcome awaits you. Join us on arrival for tea and home made cakes in the garden in Summer or as you relax by a roaring open log fire in our Guest Lounge in Winter. We believe in starting the day right with a hearty breakfast. Choose from a selection of menu choices ranging from fresh fruit salad to the full derbyshire (everything going plus a Derbyshire oatcake). Lighter alternatives are available for the fainter heart. All produce is sourced locally wherever possible; eggs from Beeley Moor, Armstrong's award winning sausages and kippers from Loch Fyne via Chatsworth Farm Shop (as local as they get around here). On foot - Walk straight from the house down the beautiful Monsal Dale or follow one of the many other paths from our doorstep. Alternatively, use our guides for other routes around the Peak District. There are walks to suit all ages and abilities. By bike - The Monsal, Tissington and High Peak Trails provide easy cycling that is perfect for families. Hire bikes locally or bring your own. Off road bikers can take advantage of the routes that dissect the Peak District. Route maps and packed lunches can be provided. In the car - Within a few miles of Castle Cliffe are the stately homes of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall. At Chatsworth, home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, the grand rooms, gardens, farmyard and adventure playground offer something for all the family. Also nearby are the plague village of Eyam, the famous caverns of Castleton and the popular market town of Bakewell. |
